Discover the majestic beauty of Crete’s renowned gorges with our guided hike through the impressive landscapes of the White Mountains to the Libyan Sea. Starting early in the morning, our journey takes us through charming villages en route to the Omalos plateau.
Over the course of approximately 6 hours, immerse yourself in the ever-changing scenery as we descend to Agia Roumeli, a coastal village accessible only by boat. This personalized tour ensures an intimate experience, guided by a specialized hiking expert. Upon reaching the gorge’s base, indulge in a revitalizing swim and savor a delicious rustic lunch at one of the local tavernas.
Conclude the day with a ferry ride to Sfakia port, followed by a comfortable transfer back to your Chania hotel in the evening.

The hike is challenging and demanding, suitable only for guests who are physically fit, maintain a regular exercise regimen, and possess some experience in long-distance walking. We recommend participants wear sturdy hiking shoes and carry essential items such as a backpack, hat, light jacket, sunscreen, swimsuit, sandals or lightweight beach shoes, beach towel, and snacks. These items can also be purchased in Omalos before the hike begins. Walking sticks are available upon request at no additional cost.
