Description
A delightful, special and off-the-beaten-path journey to the world and history of Santorinian wine, combined with the unique architecture of Santorini. You start with a splash of Santorini’s past. The traditional “Canaves” – cave-shaped constructions of the self-taught architects of the past host you during your first stop. Located by the volcanic stones, you definitely need a moment to enjoy the spectacular views of Mesa Gonia village. With your senses awakened, you are ready to taste 4 splendid Santorini’s Assyrtiko wines. Your journey to the world of Santorinian wine goes on as you delve into the secrets of wine making in a one-of-a-kind, “labyrinth” wine museum. Taste local wines and learn about one of Santorini’s signature products – it all takes place in a unique, underground cave – 8 meters under the earth surface! Continue with a unique educational experience, hiking few meters along the picturesque cobbled streets with dry stone walls before reaching the first & unique organic black currant vineyard in Santorini, walking among local varieties of organic herbs such as caper and thyme. Depending on the time of year, you can pick some and taste them. You will then head to the cave to learn all the stages of their production. The visit ends with a tasting of infused olive oil and a gift of a bottle of organic olive oil with herbs from our farm per visitor.
