Admiring the 15th-century frescoes at the church of Panagia Kera.
Wandering through the colorful alleys of the picturesque village of Kritsa.
This tour takes you along the northeast coast, starting with a visit to the cosmopolitan resort of Elounda. From there, we’ll continue to the village of Plaka, where we will board a traditional wooden fishing boat and sail to the island of Spinalonga. Fortified by the Venetians, Spinalonga is also known as the Leper Island, where lepers from Crete and the rest of Greece were quarantined until 1957. We’ll explore the islet, walking around and viewing the restored buildings. After sailing back to Plaka, we’ll head to Agios Nikolaos, where you can enjoy a stroll through its charming center, filled with lively cafés around the lake and lovely little shops. Our next stop is the 15th-century church of Panagia Kera to admire its beautiful frescoes, followed by a visit to the picturesque village of Kritsa, nestled on the slopes of Kastellos mountain, for a walk through its colorful alleys. We’ll return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
