This excursion is designed to provide a quick yet enriching exploration of the area. We’ll start by driving to Plaka, where we’ll board a traditional fishing boat for a sail to Spinalonga Island. Known as the Leper Island, it was fortified by the Venetians and served as a quarantine station for lepers from Crete and beyond until 1957. We’ll walk around the island and explore its restored sites. After returning to Plaka, we’ll head to the 15th-century church of Panagia Kera to admire its stunning frescoes. Next, we’ll visit the charming village of Kritsa, nestled on the slopes of Kastellos Mountain, and wander through its colorful streets. Our final stop will be the town of Agios Nikolaos, where you can enjoy a stroll around its picturesque center, with lively cafes by the lake and delightful shops. We’ll return to the hotel in the early afternoon.
