Description
Kókkini Porta Rossa is a restored knight’s residence from 1340, located at St. John’s Gate in the Medieval Town of Rhodes. Once home to the Gate’s garrison commander, it now blends history and charm, offering a unique hospitality experience.

MICHALIS

MICHALIS is designed to accommodate 2 guests. Its king double bed can be made as a set of twins.
It was built around 1350, as part of the knight’s house that stood where our hotel now is. Its vaulted roof, stone wall and oakwood gate are what a visitor sees first when entering from the Gate of St. John.
The suite’s 37 sq.m. (400 sq.f.) single-space interior is on ground level and has been decorated in harmony with the building’s interesting past.
MICHALIS’ bathroom features a “rainfall” walk-in shower, a marble antique sink, 1920’s lamp and mirror.
The 45 sq. m. (485 sq.f.) private garden, with a plunge pool, an old olive tree, a plethora of aromatic plants and herbs, lies in the shadow of the castle’s wall.
In the privacy of their garden our guests listen to the drops falling from the old tap at the foot of the castle, watch the birds flirting in the olive tree’s branches and enjoy the discreet scent of the herbs.
KATINA

Located on the first floor, has an area of 52 sq.m. (560 sq.f.), 7 large windows, and a fireplace in its living room.
KATINA can accommodate up to 3 guests.
It has a spectacular king double bed (can be turned to a set of twins), while the sofa in the living area can be used as a full size single bed.
KATINA’s south windows offer a view of the castle wall, our chapel and part of the Medieval Town. The ones to the North overlook our garden.
The huge bathroom features a freestanding bathtub as well as a separate walk-in shower cabin with a 40cm rainfall shower head.
DENIZ
1-3 people
54 m²
DENIZ is probably the most romantic of our suites.
It can accommodate up to 3 guests and has an open-plan area of 54 sq.m. (581 sq.f.) on two levels.
The suite’s special feature is its unique wooden roofed balcony, the “hayat” (life in Arabic).
The balcony and the suite’s windows overlook the castle wall and our chapel’s entrance. They also have a view of the sea over the rooftops and the defensive wall.
A high-ceiling living room with two large windows and a small sitting area on DENIZ’s lower level feature large cushions and a sofa that can also be turned to a single bed.
Also on the lower level, the bathroom is adorned by part of our building’s original 13th century wall and its window. It features a whirlpool bathtub and a hand-hammered copper sink.
The bedroom, with its romantically lit headboard, is located on the suite’s loft. The king double bed can be made as a set of twins.
