A relaxing short day tour that explores the quieter and more authentic hinterland of the area, offering a stark contrast to the bustling and crowded coastal resorts. We will journey through rural villages, rolling hills, abandoned settlements, and old mills, as well as visit atmospheric monasteries and white churches. Along the way, we’ll interact with locals to gain insight into the island’s traditional way of life, which is both slow-paced and labor-intensive. Highlights of the tour include the village of Houmeriakos, the Monastery of Kremaston, the agricultural town of Neapoli, and the village of Fourni. In Fourni, we’ll savor a homemade Cretan meal at a cozy family-owned taverna set in the village’s charming square beneath the shade of a large sycamore tree. We’ll return to the hotel in the early afternoon, taking in the panoramic views over Mirambelo Bay.
